245 Rail Systems Building Code Compliance Fypon rail system products are building code compliant over 30" above ground when rail lengths are 8' or less installed between our Ultra Post Kits. 10' and 12' rail lengths shall only be attached directly to supporting structure (i.e. wall or support column). Applications less than 30" above ground are decorative, and do not fall under any building code or testing standard. The 8', 10' and 12' rail kits include a top rail metal insert that must be used in any installation. 6' rail kits do not require an insert. Fypon has received confirmation from ICC PEI, LLC that its rail systems comply with the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC).
